Mechanism of interannual variability of ocean bottom pressure in the South Pacific

چکیده
The study of ocean bottom pressure (OBP) is useful for understanding the variability that contributes to sea level change. Previous studies have reported strong OBP anomalies in Southern Ocean on different timescales. In this study, characteristic and mechanisms energetic interannual southeastern Pacific are examined using 14 years Gravity Recovery Climate Experiment (GRACE) data. It found positive (negative) related convergence (divergence) Ekman transport forced by local winds variability. Such attributed atmospheric teleconnections, particularly second Pacific-South American (PSA2). (SLP) associated with phase PSA2 shows a wavenumber-3 structure high latitude South Pacific, which benefits persistent anticyclone over leading there. Moreover, El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO) plays an important role concurrent during austral spring (August–November) leads autumn (March–June) 1 season. These results highlight influence teleconnections validated mass conservation (non-Boussinesq) model, expected not only better longer time, but also predict variation global scale.

Interannual Variability of the Upper Ocean in the Southeast Pacific Stratus Cloud Region
Persistent stratus/stratocumulus cloud decks in the southeast Pacific near the coasts of Peru and northern Chile play an important role in regional and global climate variability. Interannual variability of the upper ocean under stratus cloud decks in the southeast Pacific is investigated using ocean general circulation model (OGCM) experiments. The model was first forced with daily surface flu...

متن کاملMesoscale Simulation of Tropical Cyclones in the South Pacific: Climatology and Interannual Variability
The Weather Research and Forecast model at 1/38 resolution is used to simulate the statistics of tropical cyclone (TC) activity in the present climate of the South Pacific. In addition to the large-scale conditions, the model is shown to reproduce a wide range of mesoscale convective systems. Tropical cyclones grow from the most intense of these systems formed along the South Pacific convergenc...
متن کاملInterannual and Decadal Variability in the Tropical and Midlatitude Pacific Ocean
Forty-four years of mechanical and expendable bathythermograph observations are assimilated into a general circulation model of the Pacific Ocean. The model is run from 1950 through 1993 with forcing at the surface from observed monthly mean wind stress and temperature. The resulting analysis is used to describe the spatial and temporal patterns of variability at interannual and decadal periods...

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
